I have a 2000 volkswagen passat 6 cylinder and the oil pressure light it coming on

Asked by Jan 22, 2014 at 12:06 PM about the 2000 Volkswagen Passat

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It says my engine has no oil pressure. I bought an oil pressure switch, but where is that located. My oil filter is at the bottom of my engine so anything but the filter is hard to reach, but I know it is in that general area. Anything will help!

Looking at the oil filter, the sensor is a couple of inches higher; and back six inches or so further from the driver's side. Use a 22mm wrench to loosen, and there isn't a lot of room to fit the wrench; but not any harder than getting the filter off.

I had that problem and after some test and error issues, it was fixed cleaning the oil bomb, and using thicker oil
