what is the light that comes on that says "check"

Hi mupdiva, This should be your "Check Engine" light. This could be mean that your vehicle is having a problem and needs immediate attention or that you're due for a service call to your dealership (usually oil change or other scheduled maintenance). Either way I'd have it checked out as soon as you can. Good luck!
