where can i find my transmission dip stick,so i can check my fluid
Here is a fantastic website which will answer nearly every question you might have about 2000+ VW/German transmissions: http://www.taligentx.com/passat/maintenance/atfchange/
I just had my tranny fluid flushed, so I know a bit about this. The tranny in the Passat is a sealed unit which means that you can't check the fluid level without having to lift the car, breaking the seal between the tranny pan and body and then check. I don't reccomend this. Also how many miles does the car have? If it isn't leaking and it has fairly low miles, under 55k for example your fine. Mine has 82k and the fluid was really low and really dirty. Hope this helps
Vickie did you ever find that dip stick, I still looking for mine!!!
does anyone know if the oil dipstick goes to the bottom of the oil tank when it measures the oil on vw passat 2007 2.0t. the vw mechanics say it doesnt. anyone?

Run away from German cars buy a Ford,Dodge,Chevy instead as soon as possible, or at least Toyota, Subaru,Nissan,Honda
I think there is no dip in stick for every car to check transmission fluids.
The guy that designed this transmission is the dipstick.
Agreed. I mean seriously who does that? What an asshole
@Jack, hey Jack the german cars which I have owned were all very good cars (VW,AUDI,Mercedes). Why should someone "run away" from them in your opinion?
No dipstick is not a good car period whether it be a freaking VW, Audi, or Mercedes!! dumbass!!
Many of today's high performance engines ( all Models) do not have visible dipsticks. Like GuruDBM48 said the German engines are probably the finest and best engineered in the world! Every 100K take in your car to get checked.
