EPC means Electronic Power Control...drive-by-wire system. Important? Yes very. Expensive? Depends on what is wrong, could be simple

I have to drive a couple of hours for a job tomorrow. If I can't get it fixed before, should I drive the vehicle or not?

What it is, if you are not familiar with EPC....used to be the gas pedal was attached to the carb or throttle body with mechanical linkage...steel rods and cables. EPC uses an electronic device that sends a signal to throttle body without that, when you push gas pedal. I think it unlikely that it will run away, never ever heard of that happening (on a VW anyway) there is a safety system. Worst case scenario will strand you, if it were me I would drive it
