The emissions indicator light is constantly on in my 2006 Beetle but it appears to be running correctly. I've tried disconnecting the positive battery cable, but it still is on.
I've gotten a bid of $1,500.00 to fix this, but I can't believe it really is an emissions
problem. Is there any way to re-set this?
You'll need to have the computer scanned. Advance and Autozone auto parts stores will do it for free. Post the trouble code(s) here and we can help. Could be as simple as a bad gas cap or faulty oxygen sensor. As far as resetting it. Since it's OBD II it must be done with a scan tool. HTH. -Jim
Dear Jim: Thank you very much. This is most helpful. I will post the trouble code as soon as I get it.
You're welcome, glad to help. -Jim
