Is it possible to get a smaller belt to bypass the air con condenser as the pully is lose

The pulley that the belt goes around to drive the air con condenser has become lose, cost to replace the condenser nearly £500, car to old for that but I have been told that it might be possible to get a smaller belt and then bypass the air con condenser.  know it will stop air con working but would be worth it.  Anyone know size of belt to get please.

Hi Mark that looks like exactly what I want, although it is on a Saab 900 in America so not sure whether it would be the same for a 93

Read a thread on saabcentral where someone stated that in your owners Manuel it listed the belts for ac and without ac. Not sure if this info is correct but you might want to take a look at yours just in case it does.

Page 350 of the Owners Manual lists an 1805-mm 6-rib belt to bypass the a/c unit. I would also note that your defrost function will not work as well without the A/C.

Every thing I can find states that a 71' (1805 mm) 6 rib belt is the belt you will need.

hi Mark, Your help is really appreciated, it means I will be able to keep my car for a little longer when I get this done. A friend told me that I might be able to do this and he said if I found out what belt was needed he would replace it for me. You have just saved me a fortune....

did you take the compressor off completely?
