Burning smell

It started then shut off.Now it smells like it's
burning under the hood.Anybody have a clue
what it means? Thank you in advance

Check the fan belt to see if it is still there or if it is shredded.

Pop the hood and start the engine. Look for smoke (not being funny). Given the age of your Olds it could be leaking valve cover gaskets. You'll see smoke coming from the exhaust manifold areas. HTH. -Jim
