2006 nissan murano
I replaced 2 front tyres.. but the tyre shop put 235
60 r18 on the front..the back have 225 65 r18. My
4wd light flickers on and off and now have a bad
knocking sound. Could the tyres affect the car this
225/65R18 tyres revolutions per mile are 684 NEXT 235/60R18 tyres revolutions per mile are 693... So close (4/10s") in height. I doubt this is the case or cause of the issue. Check scan for codes check for a WSS wheel speed sensor code If present visit the tyre centre let them know also have have axles / CV joints inspected.
I would say it is very likely that the odd size tires caused the issue, especially if the problems showed up after the tires were replaced. I would take it back to the tire shop and have them put the proper size on the vehicle.
Right, someone wasn't paying attention when they sold you the tires, they must match on all 4 wheels, you can't just replace 2 tires with new ones and 2 used ones on the other axle. It will tear up transfer cases internal clutches, if it is knocking that could be what has already happened. Tires must match on all 4 wheels, same brand name and size.
Porky, you never mix tire sizes up like that. I would get it corrected ASAP before you tear up the transfer case or something else. Don't save money this way when it's going to cost more on the long run!
Have it road tested
