What is a fair price for my 2004 RX8 with blown engine? 75,000 miles on it. New radiator, thermostat, new tires, battery.

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I just had a new radiator and thermostat installed at a shop for $800. 4 days
later the engine blew. I can't afford a new engine. There are only 75,000 miles
on it and everything else is great. What is a fair price for it?

Worth around $7K with a working engine. Figure $3K-$5K to have a new engine installed. Someone might give you the difference, probably less since you have to tow it and don't know the full extent of what is wrong. Might be cheaper to put a used engine in it for the time being.
