The resistance to turning will be felt when properly engaged. 4. Turn the jack handle counter-clock- wise until the spare tire reaches the ground. Turn the jack handle 10~13 revolutions counter-clock- wise more after the spare tire reaches the ground, and draw the spare tire towards rear of vehicle. Never rotate the jack handle more than 17 revolutions, otherwise the spare tire carrier may be damaged. For images look in your owners manual or if you don't have it download it from link above

For my wife's Kia, we were able to lower the spare tire w/o difficulty. However, the tire had to be tilted this-way-that-way a bit to get the tire free of the carrier. Likewise, it took a little bit of trial-and-error to get the bad tire onto the carrier, after the spare was mounted. Good luck!!

I can't find the holeinside to lower the spare. is the hole straight in or to yhe right?

I stick it in the hole and there id nothing to engage
