1991 Ford 350 want even click but light lite up with switch turned on I can jump across solenoid and it starts right away

You should check on the small wire on the solenoid to see if power is going threw it with a test light when someone turns the key to start. If there is power there then the solenoid is bad. replace the solenoid.
