My Clarion Motorhome has a 5.8 ford with a c-6 3 speed auto-tranny and a Borge-Warner transfer-case..they are not married but make it front wheel drive.

staying under 2500 rpm  my cruising speed with best gas  mileage now is
around 60..   is there a 4 or 5 speed auto that would bolt-up..Vehicle weight

This is a unique setup, I thought the only front wheel drive motorhomes were the FMC's. I would check with B&M tramsmissions to see if it can be updated.

Monster transmission says they would sell me a AOD tranny which is a 3 speed with an overdrive,, Not sure if I would gain much... B & M didn't seem to want to offer that set up

It all depends on the final drive of the overdrive part of the tranny, but unless it is beefed up a normal AOD will not handle the exteme loads a motorhome will have on it. You might try Gear Vendor, see if they might have something you can just add on to your existing drivetrain.
