92 f250 5.8 liter won't go over 3000 rpm

Change plugs ,wires,rotor cap,button in the
process found out my egr valve line was
snapped in half and fixed it now truck
sounds like a sewing machine but my idle
sucks and when I'm driving it backfire and
acts as if it wants to go but it doesn't now
the idle will drop but won't stall I know my
truck runs way harder please help cause I
need my truck

pretty sure you didn't get the timing quite right when you replaced all the parts. also, with all that work you could have messed up a vac line. check all vacuum lines, that can really screw up your idle. Also, I am not 100% sure, but I think your truck may have something called a spout connector. If you don't disconnect it when you are adjusting the timing, you will never get it right. disconnecting it takes the computer out of the equation while you are timing it. If you don't disconnect it, the computer is trying to compensate for everything you do.
