My 1997 truck cannot be inspected due to no plug for inspection computer..in NYS
I purchased what I thought was a 1997 ford truck. Turns out it's a bunch of different trucks made into one. My problem is I can't get it inspected in NYS because it doesn't have a plug for inspections computer to plug into. What am I suppose to do? Any suggestions
Sounds like its time for a new truck! If there is no OBD II plug you are in trouble, I doubt it would be worth the expense of fixing. I would take it to a mechanic and have them look at it. Your problem will most likely not be fixed here.
My grandson just bought the truck..poor kid. It has already been to a mechanic and he said it could never be inspected in NYS. Thanks for answering.
Check up under the driver's side of the dash. Maybe it was stuffed up there by a previous "mechanic". Does the check engine light or service engine soon light work? BTW the correct name for this connector is the ALDL (Assembly Line Data Link) connector. HTH. -Jim
Thanks. Js08016. We will look.,
You're welcome, hope it's there. -Jim
