My 1999 Ford Econoline with the 4.2 litre will turnover slowly but wont start. Then when I turn the ignition switch to the off position it acts as if it's trying to start by itself.
Van starts when you put jumper cables on and will even start fine for a few days without a jump. When van sits for a few days and then I try to start it turns over slowly and the selenoid will click. Right after I turn the key off the solenoid will start clicking and it acts like its trying to start with the key in the off position.
Have battery load tested, may be bad cell,if battery is good, check the starter.
Had battery load tested, found out it was bad. Thanx for the tip!
