Alternator pulley; How do you get the nut off to switch pulleys? Most strap wrenches seem pretty wimpy and putting the pulley in a vice is never a good idea if it is to remain round.
An impact gun is what I use, both off and on. Didn't the parts store have the equipment to do it for you.
Second the impact gun, but they do make pulley holding tools (that's what they're called) most parts stores will lend you the tools when you buy parts from them.
I've always put on a leather glove and held onto it by hand, it only takes a few whacks and it spins right off, same with putting it on the new one, just a few whacks and it's installed.
