1999 F-250 7.3 WILL NOT START UNLESS I DISCONNECT BOTH POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINALS WAIT 4-5 MINUTES THEN RECONNECT THEM.AFTER THAT THE TRUCK RUNS GREAT.ANY IDEAS OF WHATS GOIN ON?
Hello, More than any single thing, The Cam Sensor and the Crank Sensor are very problematic on that Navistar. Leave the batteries connected, switch off, and remove the harness from each sensor one at a time...start with the crank sensor above harmonic balancer, below left corner of water pump; then, switch off, reconnect, and try to crank. Repeat same with cam sensor, on left front valve cover (standing in front). Let us know if it will start after 5 minutes with either/or disconnected, then re-connected. Hope this helps, AskTrannyMan
