4 wheel drive popping noise
When I put my truck into 4 high or 4 low
once I'm moving there is an intermittent
popping noise from the driver's front wheel.
It doesn't pop as hard when it's coasting
down a hill it pops extremely hard (like
driving through a deep pot hole) when under
acceleration especially up hill. It seems to
pop more the faster it's going. I took it to a
mechanic they replaced both front axles
which didn't fix anything (hated paying since
the problem persisted). I was told the 4x4
controller could be the problem and that in
the 04 model the controller is integral to the
pcm. Anyone know what is going on and
what the fix is? I'm a decent mechanic
limited by specialty tools.
