oil or motor?

Just home from a 250 mile trip .. about 2
miles from home I hear awful racket .. I'm
bout 20000 over due for oil change. Is it too
late to put oil in and drive to get oil change?  
Still chunks and no lights came on

Depends on what the noise is and where it is coming from. Why bother putting oil in it now? Damage is already done, oil won't help you if it's the engine. Just take it to your mechanic to see what is causing the noise.

You may not have any oil left in the engine. Sounds like you just learned a very expensive lesson in car maintenance. doh!
