Gasoline smell in oil

I just bought a Dodge Ram 250 the
man said all of a sudden it started
getting poor gas mileage when you
first started up black smoke comes
out of the tailpipe when I check the
oil a heavy gasoline odor comes from
the dipstick

Either you have a misfire or a leaky fuel injector. I would thin k the CEL is on, scan for the codes. I would have had a shop diagnosis the issue before purchase.
