What causes oil in my distributer cap 1995

Lower seal has failed in the distributor and oil is working its way up the shaft, distributor will have to be replaced.

This is of course assuming you have a good engine and the crankcase ventilation system is fully operational.

the distributor shaft goes down into the engine where the oil is- if you are doing it yourself, pull the dist and see if there is a little oil seal you can replace-
