Headlights hate cold weather??
i have a 95 dodge ram and in the mornings while its been cold my headlights will not work untill the truck is at its running temp or near. i have replaced switch and wires and even sockets still if its 30 or below they are lifeless. all other lights work (parking turn brake ect) this has only been a problem when im running late for work and dont have time to let truck warm all the way up and have to drive blind for the first 3 or so miles but i would like to get everything running and working properly any suggestions??
are they stock bulbs? i know that if theyr any kind of LED they wont work til its warmer out, they dont produce enough heat so it takes longer
they are stock sylvania or however its spelled
Let's start by doing some testing. With a voltmeter, turn the light switch on and probe the 3 wires at the light. 1 of the wires should have 12V on dim and another 12V on bright and the other is ground and should have 0V. If the ground wire has more than .5 volts in it then the problem is on the ground side of the circuit.
