I rebuild a 96 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9L. After reinstalling the engine the transmission has a massive load on it when it's put in gear. Could this be torque converter issues? Unfortunately I did not replace the torque converter.
What does a "massive load" mean?
And was the torque converter installed all the way back to the bell housing by spinning and pushing it back all the way?
The torque converter was pushed all the way back to the bell housing by spinning. And what I mean by massive load is it feels like it's in fourth gear. Will barley move. And to keep engine running I have to give it gas while on the break. Or it will stall.
This only happens in gear. Engine runs perfect in park and netural.
