How much transmission fluid goes into the transmission of a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.9,2wheel?
It's in your owner's manual.
Markw1952- you are wasting my time first of all its not in the owners manual and second what kind of answer is that . If you don't know don't answer.
Sorry, but, actually, it is most owners manuals under specifications, standard stuff on all cars I've owned and even if you didn't have the manual, it's available for download... each car is different, so, it's best to go to the source.
Usually 5 or 6 quarts will be required just dropping the pan. The transmission hold twice the fluid that will come out removing the pan. The torque converter does not have a drain plug and can't be drained. The total volume is in the owner's manual, but the amount required removing the pan is not. If you want all the fluid changed a trip to the dealership will be necessary. I would avoid the "quick lube" places.
