What is the Max towing Capacity of a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L V8 Magnum 2WD ?
Need to know i plan on buying a 20-30foot traval Trailer to live in as a home.
Should be 5-6000 lbs.
i used to hav a truck like yours and i towed a trailer over 10000lbs
look on inside driver door or glove box
i have towed a 10,000 pound boat with my truck but it was all it wanted to do to pull it down the interstate it stayed in third gear and every hill i hit it geared down to second would not recomend this for repeated towing or long hall i only got six MPG's while doing this
depends is it automatic or manual? you should be fine though, i had a 96 ECSB 5.9V8 4x4 auto, and i towed way more that 10,000lbs with it more than once
depends alot on the gear you have. I drove an 18 wheeler for yrs. I drove 2 trucks identicly set up the only differance was the gearing one would pull very well the other I was a down shifting workaholic going up hill. What I did learn from yrs. of towing is don't force it. If you loose speed because of the weight don't try to force it to go faster you will just over heat the engine. You may loose some speed going up hill but again don't force it do what the truck will do you will get there.
What a truck will pull will alway exceed what it can safely stop. That's the real number behind towing capacity.
