why would the blower resistor on my 02 dodge 2500 get so hot that it'll burn your fingers, and the metal strip pop loose, and fail,in a matter of hours or minutes???
The blower may have something in it or very tight not wanting to turn the speed the resistor is demanding.
test the motor....if it still turns you may be alright...you see the blower motor turns at HIGHEST speed with NO resistor ....so if the resistance of the motor is normal the blower resistors must not be for this model of blower~ all they're doin' is droppin' down the power to the blower motor...kinda primitive but is the way that it's done~ so defective blower resistor that is not grounded properly is my verdict here~
check the system ground....1/o battery cable to frame...wirebrush this connection to get rid of anything that may slow full ground potential...get a NEW battery if yours is older than five years old~
