abs and brake light on dashboard
I wonder if anyone can help.
I have just changed the wheel hub assemblys on my Dodge Ram 1500 03 5.7 4x2 .I had not tooubles at all fitting them but since then the ABS and BRAKE lights are on permanently.Do i need to reset something?
The ABS light will clear itself if the system is ok. It runs a system continuity check everytime the vehicle is started. Probably damaged a sensor in the process. Also be sure the hubs you put back on have tone wheels on the back of them like your others did.
its more than likely that you damaged (probabally destroyed the ABS sensor...) Unfortunatelly your gonna have to get that fixed at a shop more than likely... I know my system is different but my sensor is basically comparable to a small glass rod that breaks all too easily if im not careful... Did you disconnect the sensor when you did the hub assemblys if not then im almost positive you killed the sensor...
thanks jonathon it turned out to be a loose connection
thanks alex it turned out to be a loose connection
also note that on newer vehicles an after market hub assembly and dealer or origional wheel speed sensor do not read the same, and vise versa, so lights will stay on, match the hub to the sensor either both from dealer or both from aftermarket
