Do I need a special cooler on my van to pull a trailer
It's not a bad idea & to keep your automatic trans from overheating when towing. You radiator (bottom) has hydraulic trans lines to it. They are inaticuate for cooling, especially when towing (they're more for heating the hyd fluid) "T" off of them and add on a cheap thin after market hyd. trans cooler. I used a 15,000 lb. or bigger? towing capacity cooler from J.C.Witney & zip tied it directly to the front of my radiator. I towed the biggest 2 axial Uhaul trailer from AZ. to FL. no problems or trans failure.
