Spitting and sputtering

Asked by pamwiz Jul 14, 2014 at 07:26 AM about the 2006 Chrysler Sebring

Question type: General

My car has stated skiiping and sputtering and the check engine light came on.  It doesnt' do it all the time just when you first take off it acts like its not getting enough gas.  But once you start going it runs fine.  What could cause this.

Sounds fuel related. Check your fuel filter and pump.

Could be a sensor. Get the codes read at garage, your gas mileage will improve as well.

Mine had the same exact misses and took it for a diagnosis. It turned out to be a miss in cylinder 1, 2 , and 3 due to spark plugs and wires all it needed is some new plugs and wires. The car would not accelerate, it spit and sputtered and check engine light came on too. I got the reading of 301, 302 and 303 missing in the cylinders due to worn plugs and wires. Try giving it a tune up first to see if that works for you.
