I have a 1991 Buick century.. I know im low
on gas.. It started up then after a couple of
sec it shuts off

How low? Did you try adding some fuel to see if that is your issue? If you are so low there is none in the tank, the fuel pump is now pumping air into the fuel system and potentially overheating.

you should never run below a 1/4 tank. after you get enough fuel in your tank, does the car do the same thing? test your fuel pressure, and then test your injectors. had a 91 chevy Lumina that did this and it ended up being a bad injector. OBD 1 computer system worthless on this issue.
