Have had the battery disconnected on my 1992 Buick roadmaster for quite some time and it now will not start. Has this affected the computer and what is the solution. CEL
Will it turn over but not start? Or not turn over at all?
it turns over and will start if you pour gas in the throttle body
How long is "quite sometime"?
Sounds like a bad fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or varnish in the gas tank and fuel lines from sitting. How long has the car been sitting? HTH. -Jim
Check fuel pressure. How long did it sit undriven? If over a couple months then remove all old gas from tank and replace with good. If fuel pressure is low then I would look into fuel pump and filter replacement.
Has not been run for about 6 months
Check fuel pressure at fuel rail. It's probably going to be low. Might want to do this before removing and adding new gas. Cause if fuel pressure is low you will have to drop tank to inspect fuel pump.
Six months isn't that long. You may have water condensation in the gas tank. If so, get a bottle of Dry gas, dump it in the tank, then add some fresh gas. For future reference always fill up the gas tank before parking it for an extended period. Add fuel stabilizer as well. HTH. -Jim
Sounds like fuel pump or fuel pump sock strainer inside the tank. if it gets to dirty it will collapse blocking the gas to get into ur fuel rail its designed to collapse when dirty so it doesnt get junk in ur fuel system.
