I have a 98 buick park ave every since i put in the new battery the radio stopped working

Sounds like you have a "theftlock" radio. With theftlock any time power to the radio is lost the radio locks and can only be unlocked with the security code. Unless you disabled that feature, again using the code, before you changed the battery. HTH. -Jim

how do I get the code to fix this issue or is their an easier way of getting this done without the code

I'd stop by your local Buick Dealer. They can go into the radio and retrieve the code. There are some GM forums out there that talk about a generic code to unlock these radios but I've never tried it. HTH. -Jim
