I have a 98 Buick Century. The car has been sitting for about 8 months. It will start but only stay running for about 2-3 seconds. Any advice on what the problem may be??

My first guess is water in the fuel system. Unless you filled the gas tank before you parked it that's a strong possibility. Get a bottle of Drygas and dump it in the tank. Then fill it up with premium. The Drygas will absorb any moisture in the gas tank. It could also be varnished up fuel injectors not spraying correctly. Also inspect the wiring harnesses under the hood for critter damage. This is especially possible if the car was parked outdoors. HTH. -Jim
