You need to get the vehicle scanned for trouble codes to see why the check engine light is on. The check engine light is letting you know that something is wrong and needs to be looked at. You can get this scanned at an auto parts store, write down the codes.

i had it scanned said was tps sensor, replaced it and still doesnt idle right, now they think its a vacumn leak.

any advice?

would the catlytic converter have anything to do with it idling bad? last time the check engine light was on i replaced the cat and it fixed it.

Could be, just try snugging up the intake manifold bolts, check for bad vacuum lines. But on the TPS, a lot of times there is a broken wire under the insulation at the plugin connector to the TPS. They make new connector. A continuity test would need to be done on each wire. And another thing is to clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Must use the appropriate spay cleaner made for that. Can't use carb cleaner.

The cat does not sound like the problem, and it should not have gone bad by now since you replaced it.

Once things get fixed, have the codes cleared with a scanner. So if the check engine light comes back on you'll get fresh codes on what is going on.
