Gears won't work.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car starts, won't move from park. Gear says its in
drive but I feel no movement. No gear seems to
work. Been told its either transmission or torque
converter

Is there a check engine light on when it is running? If so it could be a TCM failure or a shift solenoid pack and I have seen connection failures cause a no shift. If there is no check engine light then it is time to think it is the tranny.
