Air only blows out of front vents (not from bottom heater or defroster) on 2002 Buick LeSabre I am only getting air to come out of the front vents of the dash. My blower speed works fine. I can switch it from hot to cold no prob. Had one mechanic look at and he replaced the blower motor which did not fix problem but another story as I was pissed they ripped me off as it did not fix problem. Any quick fixes that I can possible do? Pep Boys said bring it in but will cost $45 diagnostic first.

I have same problem in my 2002 Le Sabre, and have no answers yet. I suspect it is in the vent controls that are electric, not vacuum actuated. I would like to know if the controls are in the heater control module on the dash, which is pretty easy to remove, or in some other control module in some other location. I could probably get another dash module at a salvage yard but don't want to waste my money if the controls are actually somewhere else. Any help for both us would be appreciated

What could be my problem I get air coming out of my defroster but I can't switch it to the vents or to the floor

These problems may all be from a bad mode actuator. On my 2001 lesabre limited, that actuator is found under the dash. If you put your head near the gas pedal and look up towards the center of the dash you will see 2 actuators, one is the temperature blend door and the one deeper up in the dash is the mode actuator. The mode actuator controls where the air is directed, windshield, mid or floor. It is tight in there and you will find that a tiny specialty ratchet is needed to remove the actuators. Don't forget your flashlight, too.

passenger temperature actuator is on that side. driver temp actuator is on driver side. mode actuator is different than temp actuator.
