The book says regular fuel, but I have found that the fuels of today vary greatly in quality from one brand to the next. I would suggest you find a good brand name station and then try using a couple of tanks of regular and check your fuel mileage, then go up a notch for the next couple of tanks, then the final test on the high octane, check and compare the mileage with each and go with the fuel that gives you best MPG.
