What are the symptoms of a solenoid clutch gone bad?

Asked by Oct 10, 2015 at 11:25 AM about the 2003 Buick LeSabre

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 Buick LeSabre will drive in reverse and gears 1 and 2, but only revs when in drive and 3, is this a solenoid issue?  Is it safe to drive to a shop if I only go  20 mph?

1 Answer

You got it, sometimes the tranny will also feel like it is chattering. 20 MPH will be okay as long as it isn't too far, the transmission fluid will overheat if too far.
