Can a catalytic converter replacement cause an Exhaust issue?

Asked by Jun 15, 2016 at 04:54 PM about the 2007 Toyota Prius

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my catalytic converter replaced recently and now my mechanic says my exhaust is leaking. They said the tork mount is really worn. They explained the engine is  moving more than it should causing a hole in the exhaust. The noise that prompted me to take it in began right after I got my car back from having the catalytic converter replaced. Could there be a connection here?

So you need a new motor mount? I would hope they repair the exhaust leak since they were just working on it.
