i own a 92 f150 with the 302 v8 E40D Auto with OD, it is rated for 8700 to 9500 lbs, provided you have the proper hitch attached on the rear that is rated for that amount to tow, usually on the hitch it will tell you what class it should be i.e. 1-5 I have towed a 7000 lb chevy z71 with not a problem, you should be good.
