1991 ford f-150 will sit an idle but start down the road it dies and the battery is dead new battery checked alternator and core need to know what would drain the battery in less than a half mile

A dead short. Check your battery cables going to the engine/body and starter. Feel all your cables/wires under hood and see if any are hot while engine is running.
