Check the clutch inhibit switch.
we checked that anything else?
OK Do you have anything electrical the works, like horn, heater fan headlights? If not then you need to check your fuses and fuselinks. If they check out then try checking your ignition switch for prope roperation.
The two small wires going to sylnoid are they on the proper post? When you turn your key to start position have someone check to see if you have 12 volts going to one of those wires every time you turn the key. If not I would check for blown fuse. Where the main large wire comes from the battery to the sylnoid on some models there are several small wires that hook to same large stud. One of these normally powers the ignition and has a fuseable link in it. Not sure if it applies to yours but something to check into. Now if when doing the voltage check on the small wires as mentioned above if you do get 12 volts every time the key is in the start position then make sure that wire is on the proper post.
Also your clutch switch will cause no 12 volts on test above. Hope all this helps some.
also I have seen people wiring the Starter wrong, there are some pics on line of how to wire the starter that are wrong. I have a 93 F150 300 L6 and I found the problem to be that the Negative wire was on one of the other posts on the starter(THAT IS WRONG) and it will cause the truck to just "click" If you put the cable on the mounting bolt like it supposed to be problem solved. Attached picture is "WRONG"
