Clean it up and pressurize the system. Timing cover? With all of the electronics, your best bet in replacing your engine is with the same engine (long block). Cheaper to fix the leak.

Had the same problem with a V6 4.0 engine. Could not find the leak for the life of me. Placed dye in the radiator then pressurized the system to about eigteen pounds and the leak was clearly visable. On mine it was the #$^ chit plastic thermostat housing on the top of the engine.

Intake gaskets can also be a problem on that engine, but to answer your question, a 302 or 5.0 litre engine will, but then you have to deal with changing computer, exhaust, accessory brackets, etc.

I can tell you right now what it is it's a bolt & the intake you're going to have to pull off intake and the head miles will have redone at the same problem with the 94 5.8 L must have Titan it to tight up the factory Lakes water out of the bolt water jacket

I can tell you right now what it is it's a bolt in the intake you're going to have to pull off intake and the head might has well have head redone. I had the same problem with the 94 5.8 L must have over torqued at the factory leakes water out of the bolt from a water jacket
