my 2002 f150 does not want to start when it is below 40 dgree
It will spin but not crank without repeated attempts when it is cold outside. It does fine when the temperature is warmer. The alternator, the battery, and the fuel filter has been changed.
You have either a weak spark, or low fuel pressure.
As in fuel pump? And it only happens when the temperature is cold
Check the spark, it should look white, blue, if it is weak, it will be a yellow, orange color. And when is the last time it has ben gone over for a tune-up? Is it due?
It has been awhile. I also have 2 O2 sensors that need replaced according to the diagnostic check. Would that do it?
Yes, the PCM cannot adjust the air fuel mixture correctly, between that and the temperature sending unit is where the PCM gets its info in how to adjust the air fuel mixture. Do you remember the codes? I can look them up.
no. My son ran the codes at the local dealership and it showed 2 of the sensors were bad but I don't have that information with me here.
Probably is then if thats what they told him.
I knew that was the problem as to why the check engine light was on but didn't know if that would cause the cold temperature no start condition.
