odd rattle in engine or trans.

1967-390.  sound comes from down low near firewall. sound is irregular. almost like
preigition but not quite. it lessons considerably after warm up,but warm or cold quits when
i put it in gear. which makes me think trans. converter? help any ideas would be greatly
aprecated. dave.

Hummmmmmm. How's the transmission fluid looking? Have you changed it latly??


Could your exhaust be loose and when you start out it tightens up making the sound go awayt?
