In my 1966 thunderbird q-code is there a cheaper way to replace the material lining in the trunk with carpet instead?
the material inside the trunk now it complete crap its tearing apart and has oil and grease
all in the bottom i need to replace it immediately but i don't want to buy one of those
expensive kits for the trunk will carpet do?
If you have the know how you can get the carpet you like and cut each individual piece and install it yourself, I would recommended getting a nylon based carpet as it will be easier to heat it slightly so it can mold to some of the humps in the trunk.
Speak to an automobile upholsterer. You might be pleasantly surprised!
Several T-Bird supply companies sell an original replacement kit. Mine was about $130 for my 65. Larry's T-Bird, Mac's, and others list it. Do an internet search for other suppliers.
