Adjust the Hood to stay UP

My 1963 Thunderbird hood DID stay up but when it went into a garage they sprayed oil onto one hinge to make it lift easier. now it wont stay up. is there some sort of adjustment that anyone knows of, I cant see any. I imagine the spring needs to be adjusted etc.
help im using a  yard brush
