Hi Barry! Here's a source for the shop manual on that beauty. These guys should also be a good source for additional information and most importantly parts! Good luck! Show us pictures!
Barry, Join CTCI (Classic Thunderbird Club International). They sell a complete restoration guide to members. Membership is nominal, you get 4 magazines per year as well as other online access rights. Check out http://www.ctci.org/ for information. I just bought a 56 Baby Bird and have joined them. It was highly recommended by friends already owning 55-57s.
