Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have replaced the alternator, the voltage regulator connecter plug, the battery, the cylanoid, the crank sensor, put a new timing kit on it, and replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter but my truck still will not run or idle as long as the voltage regulator plug is connected to the alternator. Does anybody have any idea what the problem might be????

I would say either there is a short somewhere or the new alternator could possibly be bad, which is unlikely but not unheard of or impossible.
