I have a 78 f 250 4x4. the rear leaf springs are worn. I was wounder if later model ford leaf sprigs will fit
78 ford F 250 4x4 6.6 4 barrel Duel Exhaust Dana 70 Rear Dana 60 front 4 speed manual trans Flat Bad the stokl leaf springs arent holding up. And looking online i only see 24.450 pound springs replacment and is not enough. Ii was hoping to use F 350 single wheel rear springs Is this possible ?
The 10 leaf f250 is 2450lb rating, but here is a 3200 lb ..http://www.generalspringkc.com/product_p/43-469.htm Yes, it's possible to go to F350 springs, as long as they measure 27½" (measured along spring leaf, not bushing to bushing) Fits 1973 to 1978, Ford changed the bushing distance in 1980. You also have to change bushings, they are wider for F350 but at least the mountings are in the right place-distance apart Here is a good place to browse if you haven't been there already. http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/leaf-springs/truck-suv/ford/f350 This is a 3200lb spring that fits F250 4X4 or F350 2WD (Click it) I blew it way up to see
Thanks this is very helpfull I was hoping to go to the junkyard and find a good pair at the junkyard I noticed the 97 f350 single wheel hase a heavy weight capacity and also has a over load spring witch will help i have a 11.5 foot slide on camper sitting on the truck. and even with air shocks it still sits very low. I was hoping the ears for the overload springs will have the same bolt hole pattern on the f 350 as my 78 f250 I noticed my fram has the holes pre drilled for them.
